We have many years experience managing and co-ordinating activities under the Youth in Action Programme. Having co-ordinated a number of Youth Initiatives, Training Events, Trans-national Exchanges, and in recent years, a Grundtvig Partnership and Grundtvig Workshop. We are currently involved in Erasmus+ Strategic partnership for adult education.
‘Channel 3’ Erasmus+ project is a two year international partnership between Mayfield Arts, Rocket Artists Brighton and Kuntswerkplaats Amsterdam. Continuing on from our 2 year Grundtvig Life long Learning partnership with the two organisations, we are now focusing on a video project which will further explore the possibilities and innovative approaches of studio based arts programmes. The project aims to enhance the learning and development opportunities for adults with learning/developmental disabilities, through exchanging methodologies and approaches and models by using video as a tool to document learner’s studio arts practices while also developing the outcomes as a learning resource for the wider public. The Adult Learners will be involved in development of ICT and video production skills, traveling to each other’s countries and online interactions and collaborations. This we believe to be an invaluable tool for empowerment and self advocacy for learners. Follow the project on our blog: www.channelthreeproject.wordpress.com
In 2012 Mayfield Arts, Kuntswerkplaats Amsterdam and Rocket Artists Brighton received Grundtvig grants to develop work together for a two-year learning partnership enabling study visits, exchange of practice, exhibitions and events in each country. Collaborating on a series of exhibitions with our partners over the two-year partnership, one in each city, provided the opportunity to share the creative output of the artists, in addition to the innovative, inclusive and collaborative processes of the partners, with wider audiences. The partnership also created opportunity to discuss and develop ideas both through meeting face to face and through online interaction.
Three major international exhibitions took place in conjunction with the partnership;
Connecting through Creativity
Mayfield arts has hosted many Leargas european training programmes as part of its Youth in Action programme. ‘Connecting through Creativity’ training was a 7 day training programme which created space for youth workers to develop skills and confidence in devising creative exercises.
During the training programme the participants shared creative approaches and explored how art can be used to connect diverse groups. They presented and exchanged a wide range of arts tools useful for interaction and integration.
They explored the application of arts methodology across the Youth in Action programme and used the time to create networking opportunities to develop new programmes for the youth in Action programme.
